What is this?
0 2.23.10 at 8:31pm #14 BGS
all i do is play CS and browse some websites (facebook .. espn .. esportsea etc). don't really find any need in overclocking my hardware and having it die out earlier when i don't need to.

however, when i was younger and played games that were just coming out on the computer i use to over clock my computer to enjoy the speed and graphics a little more.

No because AMD's overclock like shit. I will when I get DDR3 ram for my E6320 and my G45 board though. 1.8 to 3.2 on air and stock voltage.
1 2.23.10 at 8:47pm #19 twixa
I overclock my printercables. But for shizzles I overclock my Quadcore to 3.2GHz plus my Core and memory on my videocard.

If you happen to have a Gigabyte Motherboard make sure you get the EasyTuner6 for the easiest configurating.

e8400 @ 3.6, dd2 @ 1066, ati 4800 @ 770, 1040. arctic 7 pro cooler (old one with copper base), 4 case fans.

no over voltage needed. only 550w ocz psu, nice and stable. all newer games play high settings with 60+ fps.

if you dont overclock your shit.. its cuz your a ra tard.. and dont know... overclocking is like offering additional excersize for your computers muscles.. it assists the hardware in longevity and a prosperous life.

0 2.23.10 at 11:40pm #31 axxEm
mines a lil overclocked, i mean my 8800 gtx is over clocked some but everyone knows that, runs a lil hotter but ive checked everything, as for my cpu and stuff, just a lil, luckily its easy for mine to change over clock settings since i have nvidia tune and other shit that lets me easily do it, but umm. yeah i would overclock more but i dont know limits and what not, also i want a water cooling thing on my pc, thats what i wish i knew how to do
0 2.24.10 at 12:15am #32 OPTiMUS-PRiME
somebody lives on the stone age or is a fan boy. AMD's recent processors are more capable of ocing than Intel ones, according to the tests I've seen during last months. my pc is just right down:

E8400 @4.250
2x2GB OCZ Gold Edition 800MHz @1033
2x 9600GT oc'd for 950/2100 (GPU/memories, shaders are at 1950)

So I must be wrong and ignorant because I had no luck overclocking 2 different cpu's. I tried a 3200+, managed to overclock it 200mhz and anymore then that it wouldn't boot. I also tried a 4800+ and managed to get that 300mhz above stock, and crashed at more then that. Maybe they've gotten better, but that's my experience with AMD overclocking.

I have no clue what all your nerds are talking about
0 2.24.10 at 12:40am #38 DeGReeS-M-
amd used to be so easy to overclock. now it's intel that's easy. you can push intel 1366 way harder than a phenom II x4. i'm still amd + ati for life, though. got my phenom 9850 from 2.5 -> 3.0, and my crossfireX'ed 4870 from 600/900 -> 900/1100. waterkewling :_)

FCK YEW INTEL & FCK YEW NVIDIA.

depends on the chip.

I took my old Opteron from 1.8GHz to 2.9GHz

this is dumb. how is it not worth it? Its free performance even if you are limited by your cooling capabilities.

AMDs would be considered easier to overclock, if only because of the Black Editions. Only unlocked multis from Intel are the Extreme Editions.
